Our Social History
Founder Melanie Romanaux, an educator at heart, has a Master’s degree in education, and landed her first job as manager for a learning center. During this time she investigated using Facebook to connect with her SAT students as a means of support between sessions. Immediately, Melanie recognized the power of social media to directly influence sales — and knew that marketing was forever changed.
On August 6, 2010, Melanie founded Somedia with the mission to teach business owners and marketers how to harness this incredible, bold new power of social media to reach their goals.Over the past four years, we have evolved to a small, but scalable social media company that continues to teach social media, but ALSO manages accounts day-to-day on behalf of our clients (we’ve heard that we’re pretty good at it, too).
Somedia has a passion to partner with agencies and brands to produce the best integrated marketing results possible for our clients. We’ve served over 50 clients locally, nationally, and abroad.
At Somedia we are a TEAM of individuals, each adding a unique perspective to make our work stronger. Every business has a different audience, and our specialists have different interests, giving us the ability to develop relevant content for each. Take a look at our team bios, and see for yourself!

Somedia does only ONE THING: Social Media Marketing. In fact, we do it well enough that companies large and small ask us to TEACH,TRAIN and CONSULT on social media. We don’t just post amazing content and…wait…for customers to find and engage with your brand (inbound marketing). We actually locate and engage with the audience you want and ATTRACT them into your conversations (we call this active outreach).
